Description

Built in 1896 under the supervision of architect Puig i Cadafalch

Casa Marti "Els Quatre Gats" was designed to look like a medieval castle. The Gothic façade of the home is additionally adorned with charismatic and ornamental elements of modernisme. The stained glass and wrought ironwork at Casa Marti "Els Quatre Gats" accompanies sculptures and other art work.

Eusebi Amau and Pablo Picasso are all well-known artists whose work is on display at Casa Marti "Els Quatre Gats". The ground floor also features the café-restaurant “Els quatre gats,” which is at the same location of the original cafe. As a hot spot for modernist and bohemian intellectuals, Casa Marti "Els Quatre Gats" became a haven for free thinkers and cultural revolutionaries.
