Barceloneta's seaside boasts the first of Barcelona's beaches. Come summertime, they are filled with people looking to make the most of the sunshine. Strolling, running and sunbathing are popular activities along the 1.25km promenade extending from Barceloneta to Port Olímpic. A dedicated path also exists for cyclists, who can be seen whizzing past.
