Description
This private day trip to Montserrat, Girona and Costa Brava packs mountains, a medieval city and the sea into a single full day. You are collected in Barcelona and travel north in an air-conditioned vehicle reserved for your group, with a guide and a flexible pace.
The first stop is Montserrat, where the monastery sits among jagged rock formations. The guide explains why the place matters to Catalan identity, and you have time to walk the complex, step inside the Montserrat Basilica and look out over the mountain landscape.
Next comes Girona. You wander narrow stone streets and the old Jewish Quarter, hear about the city's Roman origins and medieval wealth, and hear what Girona Cathedral means for the city's historic landscape. A few Game of Thrones filming locations are pointed out along the way.
The day closes on the Costa Brava, with time to stroll by the water, enjoy elevated viewpoints over the Mediterranean and explore at your own pace before the drive back. The tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or visually impaired travellers.
