Description
A Gaudí houses tour in Barcelona that begins in the old village of Gràcia, where the live guide waits for the group and leads it to Casa Vicens, the first house Gaudí designed after graduating. Its Oriental influences and the garden around it set the tone for the walk.
From there the walk heads down Passeig de Gràcia to La Pedrera, also called Casa Milà. The entry ticket is included and lets you skip the lines, so you can visit the apartment of a former tenant, the courtyards and the rooftop, where Gaudí's famous soldier-like statues stand. Barcelonans disliked the building when it went up; today it is one of the city's best-known landmarks.
Along the avenue the guide points out other Modernista façades before you reach Casa Batlló, with its legendary front and dragon-like roof. Inside you see the main vestibule and the noble floor.
- Casa Vicens: garden and main floor
- La Pedrera-Casa Milà: ground-floor patios, rooftop and tenant's apartment
- Casa Batlló: main vestibule and noble floor
The tour lasts three hours with up to 12 people. The guide speaks English, Chinese, Japanese or Korean, so pick your language when you book. Other areas of the houses are not part of the visit.
