Former residence of King Alfonso XIII

Royal Palace (Palau Reial) is a prestigious royal palace that lies in the similarly named and well-to-do residential area of the city. Close to the Zona Universitaria in a beautiful, carefully tended and terraced park with many old cedar and lime trees, the surroundings are relaxing.

The palace houses two interesting and unusual museums: the Museum of Decoratice arts and the Museum of Creamics, which features exhibits ranging from ancient Arab ceramics to pieces by Picasso and Miró. The collections of the Museu d'Arts Decoratives and the Gabinet Postal are provisionally stored here, so they are not open to the public.
