Description

The Palau de la Virreina in Barcelona is a rare example of post-baroque architecture, boasting a grand 18th-century rococo mansion (with some neoclassical elements). Constructed in the 1770s by Manuel d’Amat i de Junyent, a renowned Spanish military figure, who was appointed governor of Chile and viceroy of Peru, the building now serves as a home to rotating photography exhibitions through its Centre de la Imatge.
