A treasure house of pre-Colombian art

Museu Barbier-Mueller d'Art Precolombí in the Born contains a spell-binding collection of pre-Columbian art from South and Central America. Exhibits are regularly alternated to ensure as much of the collection as possible is on public display.

Among the collection, Aztec, Inca and Mayan treasures are dramatically displayed under spotlights in black rooms, allowing the viewer to fully appreciate the intricacy and beauty of sculptures, masks, jewellery and textiles – some artefacts dating back over 3,000 years.
