Featuring abstract sculptures and a roof terrace full of “scare-witches” chimney stacks, La Pedrera - Mila House (Casa Mila) offers a unique attraction for Barcelona visitors. Built for the prominent Mila family, the industrialist homeowner’s tastes are reflected in the eclectic structure.
The Mila House façade is made of large stones, and has large windows and balconies with elaborate wrought iron railings. The attic offers an exhibition called the Gaudi Space, demonstrating the architect’s inspirational use of space and light. With respect to nature, Gaudi often played up the strength of curves, also reflected in the Mila House design.
