Description

Industrial country estate in Barcelona

This private estate of Eusebi Güell presents three works of industrialist architect Antoni Gaudi. While only viewable from the street, the Finca Güell is still worth a look. An early work of Gaudi, the estate has an Islamic influence which is also characteristic of Gaudi’s designs at Casa Vicens.

The Finca Guell’s bright tiles are a special point of interest, as are the estate’s entrance gate made of wrought iron. The impact of the artful design at The Finca Güell also incorporates Greek mythology. From the story of Hesperides, the entrance gate’s design is the mythological dragon, which represents the beast that Hercules battled.
