Description
A Barcelona bike tour with a guide is a good way to combine the old streets, the modernist landmarks and the sea in one ride. The group never goes beyond nine people, which makes it easy to slip through the narrow lanes of the Gothic Quarter, and the guides are local experts who tell the city's history, culture and architecture as you go.
- The Barcelona Cathedral and the Palau de la Música, a Modernista masterpiece
- The Arc de Triomf, once the entrance to the 1888 World's Fair
- The Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudí's basilica
- Ciutadella Park, a green oasis with its Cascada fountain
- The Olympic Port and the beach promenade
There is a stop at the beach, with views and a few words on Catalonia's independence movement, and along the way the guides share tips on what to explore later on your own. The ride lasts about three hours, and you can pick a standard bike or an e-bike. Bike rental and an English-speaking guide are part of the tour, and helmets are there too, optional for adults.
The tour runs whatever the weather, so bring sun protection in summer and something warm in spring and autumn. Anyone who can ride a bike can join, at any age: children's bikes, child seats and a child tandem attachment are available on request.
