Description
A ceramics workshop in Barcelona is a good way to spend two hours with your hands in clay. No experience is needed, and an instructor who teaches in English and Spanish guides you through the basic hand-building techniques.
The class opens with a brief talk on the clay and how to work it. After that you have plenty of time to experiment: shape a piece of your own, or several if your design and pace allow. The clay is the high-temperature kind, and you can choose from several decorative materials and finishes.
- Two hours of hand-building, taught in English or Spanish
- Clay, tools and every material you need
- The first firing in the kiln, handled by the studio after the class
Drying and firing take time, so your finished pieces are ready to collect a few days after the workshop. If you are only visiting the city, you can add shipping as an optional extra. Since everything is made by hand, no two pieces match and small differences are part of the charm. If something breaks in the kiln, the studio offers a replacement in the form of a free class or a gift card. For those who want to go further, a painting and glazing session can be booked separately.
